Pulwama Fallout: G A Mir calls for end to bloodshed
Srinagar, Dec 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) has expressed anguish over the civilian killings besides injuries to scores in the backdrop of an encounter, which broke out in the Pulwama district today.
According to the statement issued to KNS, the party described the killings as very unfortunate, sad and highly condemnable, calling for as end to bloodshed.
Reacting to the civilian killings in Pulwama, JKPCC President G.A. Mir while strongly condemning the loss of civilians stated that it was obvious that unabated innocent civilian killings in Kashmir valley has always been detrimental to peace initiatives initiated from time to time, besides vitiating the atmosphere, resulting in the deterioration of situation to a largest extent, G.A. Mir said.
The civilian killings in Pulwama could have been avoided had the forces have followed SOP property, but unfortunately that has not happened, leading to the civilian killings and injuries to dozens, Mir added
He said Govt of India and Jammu and Kashmir Govt have miserably failed to restore peaceful atmosphere in valley, the loss of civilians from time to time in South Kashmir and elsewhere keeps the valley on boil and there was no end to bloodshed leading to the deep alienation among the people.
He urged upon the Forces to exercise restraint while dealing with the Militant related activities and ensure that civilian are not killed or injured, as that will only ensure prevalence of peace otherwise the situation will continue to remain on boil in valley, Mir said.
JKPCC President conveyed deepest condolences to families of civilians killed today.
