arrests, raids, curfew, restrictions, issuing intimidating statements, amounts to accepting defeat even before start of the fight: JKLF

Srinagar 16-Dec unleashing a spree of arrests, nocturnal raids, imposition of curfew and restrictions, issuing intimidating statements to halt a peaceful peoples march towards Badami Bagh cantonment amounts to accepting defeat even before start of the fight. Opening barrels of guns at unarmed civilians, killing and maiming them with impunity and putting a blanket ban on mourning and peaceful protests is glaring display of Indian cowardice and anti-democratic approach in Kashmir.

This was stated by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) while condemning the spree of arrests, nocturnal raids and other oppressive measures taken by occupational authorities to stop peaceful march towards Badami-bagh cantonment on 17th December 2018. It is pertinent to mention that JKLF ailing chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has already gone into hiding and will God-Willingly lead the protest rally towards Badami Bagh army cantonment. JRL has announced that JRL and people will march towards Badami Bagh Army cantonment on Monday 17th December to ask GOI to kill all of us at one time rather than killing us daily basis.

Terming the spree of arrests and nocturnal raids by police and forces as most undemocratic, JKLF said that from yesterday evening police has launched a cleansing operation throughout Kashmir valley, Chenab and Pir-Panjal areas. Police raided the house of JKLF senior zonal vice president Muhammad Yasin Butt and took him in custody. He has been detained at police station Nigeen. JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal is already in police custody and was yesterday shifted to Kothi-bagh Police station. Police today also arrested JKLF vice chairman Showkt Ahmad Bakshi was and has lodged him at police station khotibagah.JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri is also languishing at police station Maisuma from last few days. In a bid to arrest, JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, Police yesterday evening raided the residence of some of his friends and well-wishers. Similar kinds of raids were conducted against Zonal general secretary Sheikh Abdul Rashid and many others. Police is summoning many JKLF members to present themselves at police stations from yesterday.

Terming this spree of arrests, nocturnal raids, imposition of curfew and restrictions and statements threatening people as in a bid to sabotage peoples march towards Badami-bagh army cantonment, a JKLF spokesman has said that these oppressive measures actually amount to conceding a defeat even before the beginning of a battle. JKLF said that opening barrels of guns at unarmed civilians, killing and maiming them with direct firing and then putting a blanket ban on mourning and peaceful protests is glaring display of cowardice and anti-democratic approach of occupational authorities in Kashmir. JKLF said that killing unarmed civilians is no bravery but butchery and putting ban on peaceful political protests is no democracy but colonial dictatorship and the oppressors who are unleashing this reign of terror will surely face the law of retribution and will have to answer for their crimes against humanity. It is pertinent to mention that besides the above said detainees, authorities have also imprisoned JKLF deputy chief organizer Siraj Ud din Mir, Ghulam Nabi Kashmiri (who are both ailing in Kot-Balwal jail), Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Abdul Rashid Magloo, Assadullah Sheikh held under PSA, lifer Nazir Ahmad Sheikh and others and all these inmates are facing worst Indian torture in jails.
