UN resolution on RSD to Kashmir, Palestine attracts world attention on Kashmir’s freedom struggle: Sehrai

Srinagar, Dec 19 : Reacting on United Nations (UN) unanimously passed resolution reaffirming people’s right to self-determination of oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) Chairman Mohd Ashraf Sehrai said, “the resolution serves to focus the world’s attention on the freedom struggle by people in Kashmir and Palestine for their inalienable right to self-determination.”
In a statement issued to KNS, Sehrai said, “the UN has a moral and political obligation to the people of Kashmir as promise made to us by the same institution to hold a plebiscite in Kashmir which so far not been fulfilled as a result humanity is suffering immensely since 7 decades. The continued relevance of the right to self-determination sends a strong message of support to people of Kashmir and Palestine who still find themselves subjugated and oppressed.”
Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat in a statement said, “the discriminatory approach on part of some major capitals is just making the world more insecure and unsafe with each passing day. The truth of the matter is that because of India’s implausible and uncompromising state of mind, peace in entire South Asia is at stake. We, therefore, will urge western world to shun their political and economic expediencies, join this Pakistan-sponsored resolution on Kashmir which has been passed by UN and play their due role for the resolution of outstanding Kashmir dispute including Palestine if they are really interested to leave Kashmir, Palestine and entire sub-continent peaceful for future generations which has already consumed 3 generations.”
Sehrai said that the United Nation and international community must intervene and challenge the behavior of Indian state towards the Kashmiris and urge it to stop the reign of terror and initiate processes for granting Right to Self Determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir who offered lakhs of precious lives so far for their birth right.
