Civilians killings during PDP-BJP regime continue to haunt people today: NC leader

Srinagar, Dec 20 : National Conference senior leader Qaiser Jamsheed Lone on Thursday said that vicious cycle of civilian killings during erstwhile PDP-BJP regime continues to people during contemporary times.

“The vicious cycle of civilian killings which had started under the coalition government of PDP and BJP continued to haunt the people even in the governor rule,” Lone said. “There were expectations that the killing of civilians would stop in the Governor rule but unfortunately the killing spree continue unabated, he added.

The National Conference organized protests in every district party headquarter against the unbridled killing spree.

“We have also presented a memorandum in this regard to the governor through the deputy commissioner to send a message to the governor machinery and the BJP government at New Delhi that killing spree must be stopped,” Lone, who hails from northern Kupwara district, told GNS. “Dialogue is the best way forward to end the bloodbath forever,” he added.
