Anjuman-e-Urdu Sahafat J&K holds meet, discusses future course of action

Elections for Anjuman to be held in 1st week of Jan: Riyaz Malik

Srinagar, Dec 26 : Urdu working journalists association under the banner of Anjuman-e-Urdu Sahafat Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday held a meeting at Press Club Srinagar under the presidentship of Riyaz Ahmad Malik in which journalists affiliated to Urdu journalism across the State were present.
During the meeting, the participants as per a statement issued to KPS highlighted the issues they are facing on ground and urged the Anjuman to address them for the smooth functioning of Urdu journalism in the State.
At the occasion, it was observed that Urdu journalism is the backbone of keeping the Urdu language alive in the State.
The participants in the meeting impressed upon the chair to rake up their genuine demands with the institutions they work for. It was entirely observed that some non-professional institutions have created a mess in the name of journalism and are involved in violation of journalistic norms blatantly.
Riyaz Malik in his presidential address assured the participants that there due and genuine queries will be redressed soon once the elections in the Anjuman are held.
He said Anjuman is going to hold elections in the first week of January for all posts and after that further course of action will be sorted out.
On the occasion, many senior working journalists including Zahid Mushtaq, Shabir Malik, Rashid Maqbool, Tariq Ali Mir, Manohar Lalgami, Nazim Nazir and others spoke and suggested many things for the betterment of Anjuman.
