India condemns ‘cowardly terrorist attack’ in Egypt

New Delhi, Dec 29: India on Saturday condemned the “cowardly terrorist attack” on a
tourist bus near the Giza Pyramids in Egypt which claimed several lives.
“We condemn the cowardly terrorist attack on the tourist bus near the Giza Pyramids in
Egypt on December 28 in which innocent lives were lost. We convey our heartfelt condolences
to the families of the deceased,” an MEA statement said here.
The government of India wished speedy recovery for those injured.
“We stand with the government and people of Egypt in their fight against terrorism,” the statement said.
At least three Vietnamese tourists and an Egyptian tour guide were killed on Friday when a roadside bomb struck a tourist bus in Egypt.
The bombing took place in the Giza region near Cairo, where the pyramids are located.
The incident occurred on El-Maryoutiya Street in Giza’s Haram district, reports said.
At least 11 people were wounded and 10 of them were Vietnamese tourists and the Egyptian bus driver.
