‘Let me Speak’ cultural event held at Pattan

Pattan: ‘Let me Speak’, a cultural event was organized by ‘Captured Illusions Magazine’ at ‘Parsa’s SSM by UnS food and beverages’ branch in SSM college Parhaspora Pattan in North Kashmir.
‘’Hash tag ‘# Let Me Speak’ is an initiative by Captured Illusions where we meet people with different backgrounds and discuss some pressing issues,’’ said Mumin Hameed Bhat a publisher of Captured Illusions Magazine.
The idea behind this is to enlighten the youth towards better future while providing them a platform to express themselves and there is no cast, color and creed.
“This is specific for the development of individualism and contribution for the better future, he said what adding that It is integration process of culture, society coming together to produce better future and societies.”
‘#Let Me Speak’ event got momentum and overwhelming respond from the students of the SSM college many students spoke on the event on different topics related to the culture of Kashmir, however the pressing topic was Kashmiri attire ‘Pheran’ which was recently in headlines in media because governor led-government banned it in government offices at several places which got criticism from public at large.
In response to that ‘#Let Me Speak’ were organized to make public awareness and involve youngsters especially the students and create a responsive traditional and cultural opinion among them to tackle the intrusion in our superior culture of Kashmir.
While speaking on the occasion, Mehak from Radio Mirchi, “ Taken ‘#tag Let Me Speak’ in another direction that its right of any individual to speak of mind whether he speaks culture, society, people or anything he desires to talk about is his own will and right. She appreciated the event that is getting momentum on social media as well”.
A student Tariq Ahmad, Civil Engineer while speaking at the function said “We should preserve our culture and identity but equally it has an evil facet while dealing with foreigners like Arabs as we cannot ignore religiously Arab culture and its beliefs”.
“Reciting his poem an immense influence in his poem written in Urdu by him literally talking about decaying culture of Kashmir and audience manipulated like situation arise there,” said by another participant who is a student at Jamia Islamia.
Professor Irfan Ahmad from Business Management School said, “When we talk about culture what exactly comes in our mind language, wearing clothes nevertheless youngsters manipulated it by influence of foreign culture and designs has changed drastically our society and sociological conceptions. We applaud our children to wear latest dress designs and forgetting our own identity of culture.”
Aseel Khan civil engineer while speaking on the event said, “Our culture exploration starts from mother when ones mother resist to speak in her native language then how come it possible for teenager or youngster can speak in mother tongue, people are ashamed speaking Koshur language as feels and doubts cut off and unambiguous understanding.”
