Former Punjab MP Simranjit Singh Maan disallowed to visit Kashmir: Sikh Intellectual Circle
Says ‘he was scheduled to meet bereaved families in south Kashmir, JRL’
Srinagar, Dec 31 : Former Punjab Member of Parliament Simranjit Singh Mann was on Sunday disallowed to visit Kashmir, Chairman of Sikh Intellectual Circle, Narendra Singh Khalisa said on Monday.
Khalisa while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the Maan, a former MP of Punjab was scheduled to visit Kashmir Valley but was disallowed from Ramban area, where officials had asked him not to move towards Kashmir as there are apprehensions of law and order situation due to his visit.
Maan as per Khalisa was scheduled to visit the southern Kashmir where he was schussed to meet the families of those whose beloved were killed in the recent past.
Khalisa added that Maan was accompanied by political and social workers but the officials disallowed him to visit Kashmir by saying that said that “we can’t endage life and properties of citizens.”
He added that the Punjab Sikh leader was also scheduled to meet joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) here.
Khalisa said he talked to Maan over phone during which he termed Kashmir as ‘a big jail’, saying Valley is the most militarized zone across the world.
He has also said that Kashmiris are fighting for right cause and nobody can suppress them. (KNS)
