Pulwama: A girl from a remote village in Pulwama area of South Kashmir has secured 99.6 percent marks in the matriculation and is among the toppers of Kashmir valley.
Daughter of Electrical appliances businessman, Mehvish Showkat, hails from Qasbayar village of Pulwama, who got 498 marks out of 500 and has become the first student from the Pulwama area who topped the matriculation result declared on December 29, on the grade system basis.
Mehvish was studying in Lyceum School Pulwama in the begining and later she joined Tiny hearts School in Srinagar outskirts, where from she completed her 10th among the toppers of valley, with “many dreams in her mind.”
Talking to this South Kashmir based journalist, Mehvish said that “I am thankful to my parents who helped me to secure first position in the area like Pulwama where situation usually remain tense. I feel proud as I am getting appreciations from everyone here, which inspires me more,”
“I am very happy to top this examination with 498 marks. I want to become a good doctor to serve my people. I don’t have a brother, that’s the reason, my papa always treat me as his son, which helped me to achieve this feat,” Mehvish said.
Mehvish further said that she was “always studying with positive intentions in all the situations” which proved successful, adding that she “has a sister, who is in 7th standard, whom she want to see as IAS officer in future.”
“With an aim to become doctor, I also wish to see my little sister as IAS officer too in future,” she said.
While giving message to the young generation of Kashmir, particularly to South Kashmir, she said that “Everyone must chase their dreams with positive intentions in their mind, which will help them a lot literally.”
His parents also expressed happiness and said that they both “wish to see her shining constantly in future.”
