Lok Sabha adjourned till 12 Noon after TDP, AIADMK create ruckus

New Delhi, Jan 3: The continued bedlam in the Lok Sabha over issues including Special Category Status demand for Andhra Pradesh and plight of the people in Cauvery Delta forced the Chair to adjourn the House till 12 Noon on Thursday.
As soon as the proceedings of the Question Hour commenced, AIADMK members and TDP members, including Jayadev Galla, and Ashok Gajapathi Raju, entered the Well, carrying placards and started slogan shouting.
AIADMK members raised the issue of construction of dam across river Cauvery while the TDP was demanding special railway zone among other issues.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan allowed taking up of questions related to ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Information and Broadcasting amid din in the House.
AIADMK members tore up papers and threw in the air while standing in the Well.
The Speaker warned the agitating members and asked them to go to their places.
‘I am warning you. I will have to name you all,’ she said told the agitating TDP members.
She asked the Marshal to note the names of the prtesting members.
Amid the pandemonium, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya and Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore tried to respond to supplementaries.
Despite repeatedly pleading for peace in the House, when the ruckus prevailed, the Speaker adjourned the House till 12 Noon.
Ms Mahajan has named and suspended 25 AIADMK members from attending the proceedings of the House for five days for creating uproar over Cauvery issue on Wednesday.
