Modi’s pledge of scrutiny of BJP Ministers, MPs, MLAs bank accounts proved a farce: J&K Panthers Party

Jammu, Jan 4  Reminding Prime Minister Narendra Modi of his directive in Nov 2016 calling upon the BJP Ministers, MPs and MLAs for submission of their Bank Accounts to national president Amit Shah as a measure of Accountability and transparency, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party on Friday said that people of the country wanted to know as to what action had been initiated in pursuance of the said disclosures made by BJP leaders with regard to their assets.

JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister Harsh Dev Singh here told reporters that the people were curious to know whether it was yet another “Chunavi Jumla” or an attempt to divert the attention of the public from burning issues facing the economy.

“In case there was any seriousness in the PM’s directive, the BJP needed to come out with the names of BJP leaders charge-sheeted for disproportionate assets or money laundering after such disclosures or at least a statement that none of the BJP Ministers, MPs or MLAs was found to be in possession of black money or illegal cash,” said Mr Singh.

He further said that it was expected of the PM that he would not only expose and punish such leaders but also direct them to put their banks accounts and property details in public domain as a measure of transparency.
