Moderate rain, snow in Kashmir from today afternoon, weather to improve from Sunday noon: MeT
Srinagar : As per the J&K state MeT department, Kashmir is likely to witness a moderate precipitation in the form of rain and snow from Saturday afternoon till Sunday after noon.
The state has already witnessed twin spells of snowfall in the month of January which resulted in disruption in air and road transport in the valley.
“We are likely to witness snow and rain till tomorrow noon, although the precipitation will be moderate but weather won’t see much improvement till Sunday afternoon,” Met official told Valley Media Service.
As per MeT, Srinagar recorded -0.8 degree Celsius and 5.4 as minimum and maximum temperatures respectively while Jammu city recorded 8.5 and 20.2 degrees Celsius as minimum and maximum temperatures respectively.
Pahalgam recorded minus 0.9 and Gulmarg minus 2.4 as the minimum temperatures on Saturday.
As per reports, due to poor visibility at Srinagar International Airport, morning flights to and from the airport were cancelled while all afternoon flights are delayed.
The weather has also affected the traffic movement on Srinagar- Jammu highway, As per Traffic department officials the traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway has been halted.(VMS)
