DC Kupwara reviews Urs arrangements of Muqam-i-Shahwali shrine

Srinagar, Jan 17 : Deputy Commissioner Khalid Jahangir on Thursday reviewed the arrangements of Urs of Hazrat Zeeti Shah Sahib (RA) at Muqam-i-Shahwali in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.

An official told GNS that the Deputy Commissioner chaired a review meeting today to finalize the arrangements for the Urs of Hazrat Zeeti Shah Sahib (RA), beginning from January 20 and 21 at Muqam-i-Shahwali, Drugmulla.

A detailed discussion was held with respect to the availability of essentials for the devotees arriving in large numbers to the shrine, the official said.

The DDC directed the concerned authorities to ensure an adequate supply of ration, uninterrupted power and water supply during the scheduled hours besides maintaining proper sanitation in and around the shrine.

The DDC directed Health department to facilitate the first aid facility at the venue besides directing the Mechanical Division and R&B department to ensure snow clearance on all the roads leading to the shrine so that hassle-free movement of devotees is ensured.

The meeting was attended ACR, CMO, Naib Tehsildar Drugmulla and other concerned.
