DC says investigation on, action to be taken if allegations prove
Srinagar, Feb 01 : Protest erupted in Lalpora village against the concerned Block Medical Officer (BMO) after he allegedly refused an ambulance to an ailing lady and other facilities.
According to KNS correspondent, the locals as well as the attendants today staged a protest against the BMO Sogam, Dr. Firdous Ahmad.
The attendants of an ailing lady said that they visited the hospital after the health conditions of their beloved got deteriorated.
However, they said there was no doctor available while as the concerned BMO also refused to provide them an ambulance to take the patient to other hospital, thus compelling them to hit streets.
The protesters demanded immediate transfer of the BMO, saying that his behavior was ‘callous and deplorable’.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangeer told KNS that he has sent the SDM to the place to ascertain the details where he has talked to the protesters as well.
“The investigation has been started and action will be initiated against the concerned BMO in case the allegations levelled against him are proved,” he said. (KNS)
