Mirwaiz condoles demise of father of KNS chief editor
Srinagar, Feb 6: (GNS) Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed his condolence over the demise of Haji Muhammad Subhan Bhat, the father of the editor-in-chief of Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mohammad Aslam Bhat. While extending his sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family, Mirwaiz prayed for the highest standards in Jannah for the deceased.
He also extended his condolences to columnist Z G Mohammad whose younger brother Ghulam Hassan Zahid also passed away, a statement issued to GNS said adding that Mirwaiz extended his sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family.
Mirwaiz also extended his condolence to various members affiliated with Mirwaiz family and Awami Action Committee that include Bashir Ahmed Wani of Kawdara whose mother expired, Mohammad Shafi Khan whose brother in law Gul Muhammad Sheikh of Sheshebagh passed away and with the family of Farooq Ahmed Shah of Umar Colony. Mirwaiz visited the families of the deceased and expressed sympathy with the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, on the directions of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, senior Hurriyat Conference leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza led a delegation to visit the SMHS hospital Srinagar to meet Towseef Ahmed Wani of Keller, Pulwama who was beaten to pulp and tortured by the army major in Shadimarg, Pulwama camp and left in a half-dead condition. Waza while strongly condemning the “brutal and murderous” assault on Towseef demanded action against the army men involved in the act.
“Laced with the draconian AFSPA and unbridled powers, unmindful of any accountability, forces are targeting youth for no fault and pushing them to the wall,” Waza said.
