Attack on CRPF convoy: Home Minister Rajnath Singh to hold high level security review meeting with top officials
DG CRPF likely to visit Kashmir tomorrow
Srinagar, Jan 14 : The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who has expressed shock over the killing of CRPF Personnel, is likely to hold a security review meeting in New Delhi tomorrow in the wake of a militant attack on CRPF Convoy.
Sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that home Minister paid homage to the killed CRPF personnel saying that he was “deeply pained by their demise.”
In one of the deadliest attacks, as many as 25 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed and scores were injured on Thursday after fidayeen attacked a convoy belonging to the paramilitary force in lethpora Pampore on the outskirts of Srinagar.
“It is painful to learn about the death of our soldiers,” the home minister has said.
Sources told KNS that the meeting will look into possible security lapses that may have led to the attack on a CRPF convoy.
Sources said that the Home Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, top Home Ministry, intelligence and paramilitary force officials will attend the meeting to take stock of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the other hand, sources said that it is most likely that a high-level MHA team will also visit Jammu and Kashmir to assess the security situation.
Sources said that Director General of CRPF is also likely to reach Jammu and Kashmir to review the situation.
Meanwhile, sources said that arrangements will be made tomorrow for airlifting of the bodies of the CRPF personnel who have lost their life in the attack.
Sources said that the Home minister was personally monitoring the situation.
Sources said that the Home Minister, has also sought details of the attack from the state government. (KNS)
