Vakil appeals for communal Peace & harmony
SRINAGAR, FEB 15 : Peoples Conference (PC) senior leader and ex-minister Abdul Gani Vakil strongly condemned the outrageous & dastardly attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama and appealed the people to maintain peace & communal harmony in the best interests of state & the nation, a PC spokesperson said in a party release.
Condemning the despicable Pulwama attack in the strongest of terms, Vakil said that it is imperative to bring the perpetrators of this act of senseless violence to justice.
“I strongly condemn the terror attack on the CFPF convoy in Pulwama. My heart goes out to the families of soldiers who lost their lives in the attack and pray for speedy recovery of those injured”, he said.
In the wake of unfortunate attempts being made by certain elements to communalise yesterdays attack, Vakil appealed the people and civil society to uphold the spirit of amity and tranquility despite grave provocations to communalise the issue.
“It is time to calm down tempers rather than making irresponsible statements resulting in communalisation of the atmosphere. People of Jammu have a history of upholding tradition of tolerance & harmony. All of us need to work together to ensure peace and communal harmony and isolate all those politicising & communalising the issue”, he added.
Urging the people to rise above regional & religious politics, Vakil said it is time for all political parties to join hands in order to isolate those forces who want to create wedge between the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
“We should unite at the hour of grief and collectively work towards sustaining and strengthening the communal harmony and peace in J&K, Vakil added. (PTK)
