Mass arrest of religious leaders, others ‘undemocratic’: Qayoom Wani
Says terrorizing Kashmiris will serve no purpose
Srinagar, Feb 26 : Former trade union leader and PDP leader Abdul Qayoom Wani expressed serious concern over what he termed as terrorizing Kashmiri people within and outside the state by different ways and mass arrest of religious leaders, scholars and activists.
Wani while interacting with media persons at his residence after returning from Jammu said that “such type of unwarranted actions will serve no purpose.” He termed the mass arrest campaign as ‘undemocratic and unwarranted’.
He said any type of tinkering with Article 35 A will have serious repercussions and the people of J&K state irrespective of party affiliation, region and religion will fight tooth and nail against any nefarious design.
Wani urged upon the administration to put an immediate end to uncertainty, fair psychosis and sense of insecurity among the people and demanded immediate release of all arrested leaders, religious scholars and activists so that their families may have a sigh of relief.
