Srinagar (KPS): Over a decade, Residents of Pushwari Kupwara are waiting for construction of a bridge, putting lives of large population at stake particularly during harsh winters and bad weathers disturbs the normal life of residents at large.  Residents complained that they are facing immense difficulties because of the absence of bridge in the area.

People of the area said everyday they walk over a makeshift wooden bridge to cross the stream to reach the nearest market. They said that the road leading to the bridge is in deplorable condition and that was adding to their woes further as the bridge has not been repaired Since 2008.

We have been missing the classes quite often especially when it rains. Because whenever it rains the water level increases in the nearby stream thus restricting our movement to the school,” said group of local students.

Residents wish to build a bridge over the stream – as it will end one of their major problems. It becomes extremely difficult for the people to cross the stream, which swells up during the rainy season. Once completed, the bridge would connect the area with rest of surrounding areas.  (KPS)
