Srinagar: The Chinar Premier League Martial Arts Championship was conducted by Widdipura Army Camp from 07-09 March 2019 at Goswami Martial Arts Node, Sharifabad with the aim to promote Martial Arts and showcase the immense potential of the Kashmiri youth.
Chinar Corps Commander graced the Chinar Premier League Martial Arts Championship on 09 Mar 2019 and felicitated the medal winners.
The competition showcased the talent in Martial Arts forms of Wushu & Kickboxing in which 96 boys & 42 girls competed enthusiastically. Each event had three different age categories for both boys and girls and matches were played on knock out basis. The championship aimed at harnessing the existing talent the youth of the valley and provides them with a platform to showcase their potential. This beginning would act as a spring board for the youth and everyone alike and would go a long way in shaping their future.
The Chinar Corps Commander felicitated the medallists and then interacted with participants and exhorted them to pick up such sports which enhances their self defense skills, instills enormous self confidence and may even be pursed as profession. He applauded young girls for participation in combat sports which not only enhances their self defense capability but will also act as an example for other to emulate.
