Video Report | Horticulture department organizes Awarness cum training camp at Al-Huda institute Pattan
Baramulla: The Department of Horticulture today organized a one day awareness cum training camp at Al-huda Institute Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, wherein the chief Horticulture Officer Baramulla was the chief guest and more than 200 orchardists from Pattan and its adjoining villages participated in the camp.
Horticulture Development Officer Baramulla, District Subject metter specialist, Horticulture Development Officer Pattan, Horticulture Development Officer Sopore, Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens of the area were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the resource persons educated the farmers about various government sponsored schemes and latest techniques in the field to improve their know-how about horticulture to improve their income.
During an interaction session the farmers brought various issues into the notice of the officers.
The Chief Horticulture Officer Baramulla while calling the Pattan sub-division most suitable for horticulture asked the farmers to take optimum advantage of such awareness programmes to enhance their knowledge in the latest techniques of farming. He urged them to take interest in horticulture and take up horticulture related issues of their areas with the department officials for redressal.
The Chief Guest asked the field functionaries to strive hard for achieving the targets in full and also conduct regular visits to the farmer’s fields for on spot solutions of their technical issues. He also exhorted upon officers and officials of department to redouble their efforts to exploit the potential of areas for making Pattan a Horticulture hub.
