Srinagar, Mar 15: Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam delivered his first sermon at Jamia Masjid Beerwah, Budgam on Friday after taking the charge of Grand Mufti following the death of his father Grand Mufti, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din.
While addressing worshippers from the pulpit of Jamia, he said that youth are getting victimized of prevailing turmoil in Kashmir. Forces have adopted iron fist policy which corned youth to wall, leaving them no space but to resist. He urged upon Government of India to find an ever lasting solution to Kashmir dispute which is pending for last 60 years. He also condemned summoning of Mirwaiz and banning of Jammat and other parties.
During his sermon, he also stressed upon the parents to exhort their wards to refrain from indulging in drugs, liquor and other anti social activities which have many ramification on our society. He said a case came to me where 14-year-old girl was pregnant which reflects our civilization and modesty is at verge.
He said the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) emerged at the phase of history when girl child was buried alive and there was total chaos prevailing in society at that time, but his teaching purged society.While taking dig on the construction at grass land, he said it is totally prohibited even one cannot construct a Mosque there.
He said that knowledge was first given to Adam and authority of obedience and disobedience where given at his will. He further added that while constructing holly Kabba, Ibrahim (AS) and Ismail (AS) were conferred knowledge and wisdom.
