Sitharaman assures govt working for strong economy, ‘green shoots’ visible
New Delhi, Feb 11: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday assured that the government was taking all necessary steps for building a strong economy to increase private and government investment, consumption and exports, while giving enough importance to all sectors and results have already started showing.
‘For building a strong economy, every measure has found resonance with the people. Steps have been taken to increase private and government investment, consumption and exports, due to which the economy is showing signs of improvement,’ Ms Sitharaman said while replying to debate on Union Budget in the Lok Sabha.
Ms Sitharaman said there were through seven indicators, it cab be seen that ‘green shoots’ were visible.
The government was constantly engaged with all sectors, she stressed.
The four growth engines — private consumption, private investment, public investment and exports — were better speed of economic growth, Ms Sitharaman maintained.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in the House during the reply.
The Minister also assured that several steps were taken by the government to tackle the unemployment among the youths.
As many as 98 speakers participated in the debate.
