Jammu, Feb 14 (UNI) One civilian died and two others sustained injuries as Pakistan Army on Friday violated the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
While the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir are paying tributes to martyred CRPF personnel while observing first Pulwama Attack anniversary, Pakistani troops this afternoon violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked in Poonch.
Official sources said that Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing of small arms and shelling with Mortars in Shahpur Kerni Sector of Poonch district.
“Pakistan at about 1205 hours initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in Shahpur, Kerni sectors of Poonch,” sources here said.
“One person died and two injured when a shell landed in a field near to them,” Rahul Yadav, DC Poonch said.
Meanwhile the deceased was identified as Badar Din, 55, son of Abdullah.
Official sources added that Indian Army befittingly retaliated to the cross border firing, which was still intermittent going on.
The injured persons were identified as Mohammad Shabir, 35, son of Shah Mohd and Mohd Taj, 24, son of Mohammad Sadiq. All are residents of village Shahpur, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch.
