Two arrested, burglary case solved in Anantnag
Anantnag, Feb 15 : Jammu and Kashmir police arrested two burglars and recovered stolen jewellery in this south Kashmir district, a police spokesman said on Saturday evening.
He said on 12-12-2019, Police Station Aishmuqam received a complaint regarding burglary in a residential house at Manzigam in which gold ornaments worth Lakhs and cash Rs 60,000 were stolen.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 51/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Aishmuqam and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, officers were able to identify one individual identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat resident of Mughal Bagh Wanpoh Kulgam.
He said during his questioning he admitted his involvement in the crime.
Police was informed that the stolen property was received by a jeweller Sheikh Suhan of West Bengal presently running a jewellery shop at Saraf Bazar Dangerpora, Anantnag.
Subsequently Police recovered stolen gold ornaments from the jewellery shop and arrested Suhan. Both the accused persons have been shifted to Police Station Aishmuqam where they remain in custody. Further investigation in the matter is in progress.
