What do you mean by normalcy when not even allowing a closed door seminar to happen, Mani Shankar Aiyar to Govt

Srinagar, Feb 15, KNT: Shortly after police disallowed seminar on Kashmir, former Congress leader and diplomat Mani Shankar asked if people at the helm of affairs are unwilling to allow a closed door seminar to happen then why they are claiming there in normalcy in Kashmir.

Pertinently, authorities Saturday ‘disallowed’ a ‘Discussion’ on Kashmir that was scheduled to be conducted at a private hotel in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

New Delhi based ‘Centre for Peace and Progress’ was supposed to organize a discussion titled, ‘J&K-the road ahead’ at a hotel in Dalgate Srinagar. ‘Centre for Peace and Progress’ Convener, OP Shaw had invited people from different shades of society for the discussion.

While talking to Kashmir News Trust, Mani Shankar Aiyar said that he was aghast to see police preventing a closed door seminar to happen. “What do authorities mean by normalcy when they are not even allowing a closed door seminar on Kashmir to happen? This is pathetic and absurd. Authorities are misleading people of the country over Kashmir situation,” Aiyar said.

Mani Shankar Aiyar said he observed Kashmir situation keenly and found there is no normalcy at all. “People are chocked and desperate. They have been caged and don’t know what to do. It is a grave situation,” he added.
