NPP Supremo presses on PM Modi to take up Palestinian cause with US President Trump

Jammu (PR):Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party, a recognized political party in Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman of Indo-Palestine Friendship Society urged Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to take up the issue of Palestine with the US President, Donald Trump during his visit to India on February 24-25, 2020. Prof.Bhim Singh urged the Prime Minister of India to take up the issue of Palestinian problems which have been pending right since 1948 when Palestine was divided and a Zionist State of Israel was imposed in Palestine.

Prof.Bhim Singh reminded the Prime Minister of India that India has played a very effective and meaningful role in support of the people of Palestine right from day one the day Palestine was divided by a Resolution in the Security Council. India and Iran had opposed the Resolution when were ordinary members by the Security Council in 1948. He said that India has been playing in superb role right from day one till the regime of the last Congress Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister of India.

Prof.Bhim Singh regretted that the United States of America had invited the leadership of Palestine and Israel to Washington and PLO Chairman Yasir Arafat signed a joint agreement with the Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Yizhak Rabin on September 13, 1993 in the presence of US President, Mr. Bill Clinton. India has been supporting Palestine and its leadership for the implementation of the Oslo’s Agreement which was celebrated in a public ceremony in Washington when PLO Chairman Yasir Arafat shook hand with Israeli Prime Minister, Yizhak Rabin. This Agreement was to be implemented in five years and the important issues needed to be settled. Unfortunately, the present Presidency of the USA has completely ignored the Agreement and the commitment made by the then US President, Mr. Bill Clinton in 1993.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that India has been supporting Palestine, and Resolutions of the Security Council dealing with establishment of State of Palestine as a recognized state and full Member of the United Nations. NPP Supremo in his communication to the Prime Minister of India urged the Prime Minister to take up this issue with the US President, Mr. Donald Trump who is, as is said, very close to the Zionist leadership of Israel and the Israeli Prime Minister, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu. India should take up this Palestinian issue with President Trump and impress upon him for his first attention to recognize the State of Palestine, leave Jerusalem with status as was committed by the Security Council Resolution.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that Jerusalem has been accorded a status and Israel had already created part of Jerusalem as its controlled territory, though illegally. He said that the Resolution of the Security Council 242, 338 and others deserve to be considered immediately and the US President should follow the commitment made by US President Bill Clinton in 1993 at White House in the presence of Yasir Arafat, PLO Chief and Israeli Prime Minister, Mr. Yizhak Rabin. India should also impress upon US President to withdraw all its armed forces from Gaza Strip and other areas which form an integral part of Palestinian territory. He said the Oslo Agreement which was celebrated in a public ceremony in Washing in 1993 deserves to be followed strictly. State of Palestine should be made a full Member of the United Nations and Jerusalem cannot be forcibly controlled by the USA in violation of UN Resolution.

Prof. Bhim Singh was closely associated with PLO Chief Yasir Arafat, made several documentary films on Indo-Palestine relations. He visited Jerusalem in 1992 and interviewed Mr. Netanyahu which was widely telecast by Doordarshan, India. Prof. Bhim Singh urged the present Govt. of India to revive its active and friendly relationship with Palestine and its people and seek United Nations active support for the implementation of all the Resolutions of Security Council so that State of Palestine gets its recognition by the UN and full sovereign rights in Palestine as a state without delay. He cautioned US President, Donald Trump to keep in mind that Indian Nation and its people stand with the people of Palestine historically, socially, politically and hoped that US President shall tell his friend, Mr. Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel to implement all UN Resolutions without delay with the interest of world peace and respect for all Security Council Resolutions vis-à-vis Palestine. This is voice of the people all over the world, which NPP Supremo says, which he gathered during his five years around the world tour on peace mission from 1967-1973.
