33 farmers leave on exposure tour to Punjab
Srinagar, Feb 28 :As many as 33 farmers from different parts of Bandipora district on Friday left on exposure tour to Punjab to interact with scientists and progressive farmers and get acquainted with the modern farm technology, an official spokesman said this evening.
He said Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Friday flagged off a group of 33 farmers for exposure tour to Ludhiana, Punjab.
The tour has been organized by Department of Agriculture under inter-state training programme. During the tour, farmers will interact with scientists and progressive farmers and will be taken to field visit to get acquainted with the modern farm technology.
Interacting with the farmers, DC Bandipora said the tour has been organized for acquainting the farmers with modern techniques of commercial farming, emerging trends in agriculture, organic farming and cultivation of different crops on scientific lines under protected conditions.
He said the aim of the tour is to keep the farmers abreast with the latest technical knowhow and also to improve the skill of the farmers.
DC Bandipora asked the farmers to enhance their technical skills in the field of Integrated Farming and to adopt the advanced technology for cultivation of cash crops including vegetables, mushrooms and other crops.
