NSG mainstay of India’s zero tolerance towards terrorism: Amit Shah

Kolkata, Mar 1 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said the NSG (National Security Guards ) is one of the top class counter-terrorism forces on earth, adding the force is the mainstay of India’s zero tolerance towards militant activities.
Addressing the NSG officials and jawans after unveiling the new hub at New Town, eastern part of the city, Mr Shah said, ” We want to keep the NSG two steps ahead of other forces across the world who fight militant .” He said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi government India’s policy has been redesigned toward fighting terrorism and for this the NSG has been equipped  logistics and modern weaponry.
Mr Shah also assured the jawans the government’s priority was to provide every facility for welfare of them as well as their families.
He also assured that the government was actively considering to keep jawans along with their family members, at least 100 days in a year.
“We will improve the housing facilities for the force. We are trying to put in place  a framework that will allow every soldier to live with his/her family for at least 100  days each year,” Mr Shah clarified.
He said Indian forces were now considered one of the best in the world after air and surgical surgical strikes.
” Before the air and surgical strike by the Indian forces, world knew only US and Israel forces their capability to eliminate enemies at their own courtyard. But now Indian forces have made their names along with US and Israel after air and surgical strikes,” Mr Shah said.
He said India has proved that it has capability to eliminate the enemies at their home/base, a reference after Pulwama massacre on CRPF jawans last year.
The Union Home Minister said the NSG has been appreciated, particularly after  Akshardham and Mumbai terror strikes and underlined the need to reduce time  while fighting terror outfits.
He said the terrorists or suicide squads while attacking the targets not only attempt huge life and property but also try to create terror among the people.
Mr Shah said the country fell safe owing to alertness of the NSG, which so far engaged in 115 areas to eliminate the terror strikes in India.
The union minister also asserted the judgment of an counter terrorism force was very essential over the using weapons to defeat the terror outfits.
He said India under PM Modi has been perusing zero tolerance towards terror attack despite the country having records maintaining peace efforts for past  centuries. (UNI)
