Avail opportunities of travel, IGP to students
Srinagar, Mar 02 : Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Monday advised students to avail the opportunities of travel as it imparts them learning which cannot be acquired otherwise from books and classrooms.
Kumar’s advice came during his interaction with a group of students from Kupwara and Handwara who had returned from a Bharat Darshan tour.
A group of 140 students from Kupwara and Handwara had been on a country wide tour visiting various places of historical and cultural importance and returned back to the valley today. On their return, they interacted with IGP Kashmir, sharing their experiences about their visit to different places in various parts of the country, a police spokesman said.
The students shared their thoughts while interacting with IGP Kashmir and expressed their happiness for facilitating such tour which has enabled them to acquire knowledge about various parts of the country.
“Travelling imparts learning which cannot be acquired otherwise from books and classrooms,” the Kashmir police chief said. “Travelling and tours allow the opportunity to meet people and share the experiences with their peer group,” he said. The IGP emphasized on the students to prioritise sports as it helps an individual to develop a good personality and improve health.
A healthy mind is disciplined and leads to good work, he said and advised the students to contribute towards the nation building and become an asset for the society. He underscored the need to focus the energy of young souls in positive direction so as to lead a successful life. The IGP also advised students to remain away from social evils like drug abuse.
