CSB to extend full support for uplift of sericulture sector in J&K
Srinagar, Mar 5 : The Central Silk Board (CSB) has announced to extend full support for uplift of sericulture sector in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir, where about 27,000 people are involved in this agro-based industry having employment potential.
Secretary, Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Bangaluru, Rajit Ranjan Okhandiar said CSB will extend full support on behalf of the Board for the uplift of the sericulture sector in Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said on Thursday.
Okhandiar highlighted the steps being taken by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India for development of the industry. He said Central Silk Board is leaving no stone unturned to increase the production of cocoon yield, thus increasing the income of people associated with this trade.
