New Delhi, Mar 10 : BJP leader and aunt of Jyotiraditya Scindia, Yashodhara Raje Scindia on Tuesday congratulated him on his quitting the Congress and described his imminent joining the BJP as ‘Ghar Wapasi’.
‘I am very happy and congratulate him. This is ‘ghar vapasi’. Madhavrao Scindia had started his political career with Jan Sangh,’ she said tasking to micro-blogging site Twitter.
Jyotiraditya was being neglected in Congress, the Shivpuri lawmaker said in her missive.
Amid political turmoil in Madhya Pradesh, disgruntled Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia earlier this day announced his resignation from the Congress after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Former Foreign Minister Natwar Singh said he was not surprised that Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned from the Congress and will join the BJP.
Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said it will indeed be a loss to the Congress party.’I don’t think our Government in Madhya Pradesh will survive. This is the present-day politics of BJP, always tries to topple and destabilize opposition governments,’ he alleged.
He said Mr Scindia held many senior posts in the Congress and was well respected, maybe he got lured by the offer of ministership given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. ‘We know his family has been associated with BJP for decades,but yet it is a big loss..,’ he maintained.
In Madhya Pradesh, a meeting is underway at BJP office in Bhopal where senior leaders including Shivraj Singh Chouhan, VD Sharma and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe are present.

Mr Scindia visited Mr Shah’s house in the morning and met him. After that, Mr Shah and Mr Scindia went to Prime Minister’s residence to meet him. The meeting lasted for about an hour, sources said.
Shortly afterwards, Mr Scindia posted his resignation on Twitter which he has sent to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The resignation was dated Monday. This indicates that he resigned from the Congress before meeting Mr Shah and Mr Modi.

Addressing the Congress president, Mr Scindia’s resignation letter said that he is unable to serve people of his state, Madhya Pradesh, and country while being a member of the Congress.
‘Having been a primary member of the Congress party for the last 18 years, it is now time for me to move on. I am tendering my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian national congress and as you well know, this is a path that has been drawing itself out over the last year’, Mr Scindia wrote.
