Srinagar, Mar 10,: Property worth lakhs were destroyed after fire engulfed six shops in Alamgari Bazar area of Kashmir capital Srinagar.

A police official said that flames emanated from a shop that within no time engulfed five other shops.

Prima facie, short circuit seems to be the cause of the fire, but police have taken up the investigation and trying to ascertain the facts.
