Budgam police intensifies action against drug peddlers and absconders
13 absconders and 02 drug peddlers arrested; Huge quantity of contraband and psychotropic substances recovered
March 17: Continuing its drive against absconders and drug dealings Budgam Police arrested 13 absconders and two drug peddlers. Huge quantity of contraband and psychotropic substances has been recovered.
Police have arrested 13 absconders who were evading their arrest since long time and wanted by law for their involvement in different cases registered at various police stations of District Budgam.
While acting tough against drug dealings, a police party from Police Station Magam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of contraband and psychotropic substances from their possession. They have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Hajam and Muzamil Ahmad Bhat both residents of Kanihama.
Case FIR No. 34/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam. Both the arrested persons were shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
