DC B’la Reviews Arrangements for Setting Additional Quarantine Centres

Baramulla, Mar 22 : Complying with the message of Prime Minister, people across the Baramulla district today observed the Janta Curfew as a precautionary measure to mitigate the risk that may arise due to Coronavirus outbreak. Shops and other business establishments remained closed while as the complete restriction on the movement of public transport was imposed.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo inspects several places which includes Govt Degree College for Boys Baramulla, Boys Hostel Baramulla, Saint Joseph Hospital and other institutions in order to take the appraisal of various arrangements for setting additional quarantine centres in the district. The initiative was taken as a precautionary measure to tackle any kind of exigency that may arise due to Coronavirus outbreak.
On the occasion, DC took a detailed review of various necessities wherein he directed to put in place a viable mechanism besides mobilizing resources in this regard. He stressed upon the concerned authorities to work in coordination and cohesion at this critical juncture.
Earlier, District police Baramulla under the overall supervision of SSP Baramulla Abdul Quyoom and in collaboration with CRPF carried out Sanitation cum Fumigation drive across Baramulla town. During the drive, several places of vital public importance were sanitized as a move to mitigate the risk of infection.
