Welcomes Omar Abdullah’s release, asks Govt to set free other political detainees
Srinagar, Mar 24 : Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Tuesday urged the authorities to release the political detainees in Jammu and Kashmir in backdrop of the COVID threat looming large in the region.
Kadfeen while welcoming the release of NC Vice President Omar Abdullah from incarceration demanded that the government understand the gravity of the situation and should release the political detainees at an earliest.
In An statement issue to KPS, Kadfeen said that it is ironic on the part of authorities that the JK congress president G.A Mir is not being allowed to enter Kashmir valley and is being barred so ruthlessly amid the present time of tough ordeals. He also stated that the political leaders detained post August 5 period should be released and their detentions should end without delay.
He said that the government should also lift curbs from 4G internet so that the people staying inside their homes could avail in the facility in teaching their kids and acquire maximum information about the COVID-19. “Keeping the internet gaged serves no purpose at all. The government without delay must restore the 4G internet for the greater common good. The prolonged gag is severely affecting kids education in view of the present circumstances,” said Kadfeen.
