Covid 19 Pandemic: Javeed Foundation distributes Ration Kits in downtown Srinagar

Srinagar, March 30: Keeping it’s philanthropic activities continue, Javeed Foundation in collaboration with Police station Nowhatta on Monday distributed free ration kits to several families of downtown Srinagar. The foundation and police has taken this drive in the area after continuous lockdown in wake of covid 19 pandemic. The distribution was done in presence of members of the foundation and SHO Nowhatta and SDPO.The beneficiaries of this distribution hailed the effort of Javeed foundation because till now no one has come forward to help them in this drastic situation.

Taseer Khan, SHO Nowhata said: “This is the very appreciable step taken by the foundation and in future we will always support this type of helping measures”.

Jaffar Saleem, Chairman and Khurshid Malik Vice Chairman of the Javeed foundation said: “we will continue to pursue such type of events in future with the full support of general public and administration. It is a small initiative towards our own people in this extreme condition”.

The foundation regrets that it could not provide safety kits to the families due to the non availability of stock in the market.

“We conducted a survey and verification with the help of local police to identify deserving families and distributed ration kit among 63 poor families comprising of 375 members who could not survive in current tough time and we also tried to aware public how to defeat this pandemic disease through posters showing graphic summary regarding COVID 19 virus,” they said.

The organizers further said:  “We don’t know how many days we have to remain in lockdown which is the only effective preventive measure currently available with us and these poor families of Nowhata area and likewise in other areas”. But this not enough we have to get together and help those who cannot survive.

Our organization will always work for downtrodden people of entire nation because we always stand for the integrity of the Nation irrespective of cast breed and color. SDPO Khanyar was also present on the occasion.

“We are thankful to our donors, as it was due to their donotions we could distribute the food stuff to these families,” Jaffer Saleem said, adding, we appeal financially sound people to come forward and donate for the noble cause.

“We will try to provide the food item to these families for the whole month with the Help of your contribution,” he appealed people.
