More than 4000 PDD,PDC daily rated workers in J&K yearning for their wages from several months:President JKCNGEEU

These workers are still working 24x7 selflessly, making sure the services for the general public are not disrupted.

Srinagar (PR): The daily rated workers in PDD/PDC are dismayed over non-payment of their wages for several months. Despite working 24×7 as an arm of essential services the authorities are making several excuses including non-Updation of their credentials on NIC portal.

When the whole world is up against fight for Corona Virus, Power employees and workers stationed in different Power Houses, Grid Stations, Receiving Stations, Sub Stations, Workshops along with field staff are without wages from months despite working 24×7 to ensure regular power supply to general public. These workers have not been paid for a very long time, the reason being their data has not been uploaded on the NIC portal due to unknown reasons. Despite the fact that their service to the society is of utmost value during this global Pandemic situation.

A decision has been made by the government of J&K under the guidelines of Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba (No. FD-VII-Gen(190)DBT / 2016-I Dated: 25.03.2020) to rehabilitate all the registered construction workers, migrant workers/laborers in J&K from different states as well as other weaker and needy sections of the society.
If Govt. is ready to compensate the registered construction workers, migrant workers, why can’t the state employees and workers be paid their legitimate earned wages that are pending from several months.

We urge the Government to pay urgent attention to the daily rated workers (casual and need base workers, etc.) working in different wings of PDD/PDC. The Government should immediately release their wages and provide them with other basic facilities so that they can take a sigh of relief.
