Domicile law unacceptable, discrimination with JK: Gani Vakil
'Demands immediate roll back to safeguard JKs interests'
Srinagar (PR): Senior Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said the new domicile law introduced by Central Govt should be immediately rolled back as it is against the interests of the poor people of the J&K.
In a statement issued to KPS, Vakil said the newly introduced law is a cruel joke & as it is in no way a step towards healing touch and to create good will in the minds of people.
“Jammu Kashmir is a hilly region and most of its area is a border area where the people hardly make both ends meet. Keeping the posts open for all India competition is injustice with the youth of J&K. Only Class–IV jobs have been reserved for the original state subjects. What can be more humiliating than this?” Vakil added.
Vakil further said extending domicile all who have lived in J&K for the past 15 years raises concern about demography changes in J&K.
“How cruel the law is for the people of J&K. It is simply a last nail in the coffin. The law needs to be roll back inorder to win confidence of people especially youth which will be really a big service to the nation.
Terming the timing of the law doubtful, Vakil said, “When the entire country is battling with COVID19, GoI brings in the law to delude people at a time when they cannot even think in their right minds given the magnitude of pandemic,” he said
