Caronavirus: CRPF DG in Self Quarantine After Indirect Contact With COVID-19 Positive Doctor
New Delhi: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) DG AP Maheshwari has gone into self quarantine as a precautionary measure, two days after a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) tested positive for coronavirus.

The CRPF chief, who took over as the DG of the 3.25-lakh strong force in January, didn’t directly come into contact with the CMO, but another personnel who was present with the CMO had recently met the top officer. The said personnel tested negative for COVID-19, but the DG continues to observe quarantine as per the protocol.
Despite being in quarantine, he continues to be in touch with his officers over various issues, from his home, including the force’s role in the battle against the virus.
Earlier, the CMO, who is attached with the Additional Director General (Medical) office of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), tested positive for coronavirus on April 2. He was residing in Officers’ Mess in Saket in the national capital.
He is currently in an isolation ward at AIIMS Jhajjar in Haryana. However, it is not yet clear how he contracted the infection.
India has thus far reported a total of 3,072 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 75 deaths. (With Inputs From ANI)
