It’s obvious Mehbooba, others not in preventive, but punitive detention: Iltija
Srinagar, Apr 5 : Iltija Mufti, daughter of former chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, on Sunday said that the entire world was under house arrest due to Coronavirus, ‘so her mother and others are obviously not in preventive but punitive detention’.
However, Miss Iltija said that she will continue fighting for her freedom till she’s home.
Meanwhile, former chief minister and NC Vice President Omar Abdullah said in all the Covid-19 news let us not lose sight of the fact that Mehbooba Mufti and others complete eight months of a totally immoral and unjustified detention.
“244 days since my mother & countless Kashmiris were wrongfully incarcerated. With COVID, the entire world is under house arrest so it’s obvious that this isn’t preventive but punitive detention. Yet, I’ll continue fighting for her freedom till she’s home,” Miss Iltija, who is handling the twitter handle of her month from last couple of months, wrote.
She also retweetted a tweet of PDP, which read, “Senior Leader Ali Mohammed Sagar Sb, GS @JKNC_,Former Cabinet Minster 6 time MLA (longest serving MLA of J&K) continues to be incarcerated. A steadfast proponent of democracy, has stood with his people even during 90’s when some wrote obituaries of mainstream.”
“In all the #Covid_19 news let’s not lose sight of the fact that today @MehboobaMufti, Sagar Sahib & others complete 8 months of a totally immoral & unjustified detention. The government has detained them out of spite simply because it could get away with it,” Mr Abdullah twitted.
