COVID-19:District Administration Kupwara distributes Food grains among 1511 migrant workers
Kupwara, April, 06: Continuing its efforts, the District Administration Kupwara is providing all essential commodities, including Masks and Sanitizers to the Migrant Workers and their family members stranded at various locations of the district . As many as 1559 migrant workers have been identified in the entire frontier district Kupwara and all food items were distributed among them at their doorsteps. Each group of Five labourers has been provided Rice 10 kg, Tea 500 grams, Dal 1Kg , Milk Powder 500 grams, Sugar 1/2kg,Salt1/2kg, Edible Oil 500 grams and LPG during the lockdown period due to the pandemic disease Corona Virus named now as COVID-19.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg has designated Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Arshad Qadir Bhat as Nodal Officer to facilitate these migrant labourers in the district.
On the directions of DC, the Assistant Labour Commissioner who is continuously working on his assignment during the spread of this deadly disease, informed today that the the district administration has identified 1559 workers and has distributed essential commodities among 1511 Workers. He added distribution process is extensively done in different areas across the entire district which include far flung areas like Karnah Tangdar.
He said, out of 1559 migrant labourers identified in the district 203 are stranded in Kupwara, 30 at Villgam,
454 at Handwara/Chotipora, 41 at Zachaldara , 20 at Halmatpora, 30 at Braripora,20 at Krusan, 8 at Langate, 25 at Unisoo, 12 atQalamabad, 9 at Doniwari, 10 at Khurhama/Lalpora, 52 at Salkoot, 5 at Zangli, 102 at Batergam, 29 at Qaziabad/Kralgund, 14 at Kralpora, 104 at Tarathpora, 31 at Trehgam, 8 at Guloora , 8 at Gulgam, 10 at Satkooji Rajwar, 35 at Kulangam, 182 at Karnah/Tanghdar, 10 at Drugmulla,
74 at Sogam, 11 at Anderhama, 8 at Natnoosa, 11 at Magam/Devsar and 3 at Kandi-Khas.
Meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner directed the designated Nodal officers to work with added dedication and facilitate general public and stranded labours during the spread of this disease. He also stressed for maintaining social distance among labourers.
