Srinagar, April 6,: At least four dilapidated houses collapsed in Sikandarpora area of Rainawari Srinagar this morning.
Fortunately no one sustained injury in the incident but it has once again exposed the laxity of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation in identifying and getting dilapidated properties evacuated.
Official sources told KNT that four dilapidated houses in Rainawari collapsed suddenly. “Fortunately, no human being was present or close the spot of incident. These houses had been in dilapidated condition and were posing risk to the people,” said an official.
Pertinently, there are scores of structures found all across city, which are in dilapidated condition. Srinagar Municipal Corporation is taking no action against the owners of these houses and these structures pose risk to lives. (KNT)
