Bijbehara, April 7, KNT: Militants shot dead a trooper in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday evening.
A police official told KNT that unknown gunmen fired up G-Company 116 Battalion CRPF and then hurled a grenade which did not explode at Goriwan area of Bijbehara.
The official said that the trooper received bullet injuries and was taken to Bijbehara hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The slain trooper has been identified as Shiv Lal. The area has been cordoned off and searches are in progress. (KNT)
