RAHAT : AN INITIATIVE BY SECTOR HQ BSF SRINAGAR

Srinagar (PR): When COVID-19 virus has taken over the world, our country has not remained untouched, and so is the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Border Security Force has been tasked to share the responsibility to bring peace and has taken over the task of sharing responsibility to ease the burden of economically marginalized strata of our society by undertaking this Civic Action Program to act as a bridge between the people they protect and the Govt thus enforcing the faith in the system of governance.
In view of the situation arising out of COVID-19 Pandemic and the lockdown, it was felt that the less privileged and poor local population would be the worst hit.
The immediate necessary requirements of the downtrodden would be dry ration in these tough times. A conscious decision was taken by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Mishra,IPS Inspector General Frontier HQ BSF Kashmir accordingly Sh. M A Joyee, Deputy Inspector General,Sector HQ Srinagar, Panthachowk along with officers and men of units under command i.e. 23, 33 and 163 Bn were assigned to contribute selflessly and to provide ration for 100 families staying in the slums located near New Bridge, Galandar Chowk,Pulwama and Rawalpora Chowk of Srinagar Capital city.
This help would not be onetime measure but shall continue till situation is normal and they are able to venture out to earn their livelihood. This RAHAT drive is beside the contribution of 01 day salary contributed by BSF to PM Cares Fund. The soul aim of the program is winning the hearts and minds of the poor by providing them constant relief during the lockdown because of the pandemic.
