4 shopkeepers arrested for selling commodities without rate list

Srinagar, April 10,   Miscreants are taking full advantage of the lockdown enforced by the government in wake of Covid-19 scare in Kashmir Valley.

  Reports said that shopkeepers selling essential commodities are charging rates according to their will and don’t bother to follow the ‘Rate-List’ prescribed by the government.

  Acting upon the complaints, police station Parimpora registered 4 FIR’s against the shopkeepers who were selling the essential commodities to people without any rate list.

  A police official told KNT that four shopkeepers were arrested and FIR’s vide number 48, 49, 50, 51/2020 under section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act were registered against them.

  He identified these shopkeepers as Muhammad Ashraf Parra, Nazir Ahmed Tarra, Bashir Ahmed Tarra and Showkat Ahmed Parra, all residents of Parimpora Srinagar. (KNT)
