NITI Aayog seals building after its employee tests positive for coronavirus
New Delhi, Apr 28: An employee working at government’s policy think tank NITI Aayog was detected positive with COVID-19 on Tuesday and the entire building has been sealed.
‘An employee working at NITI Bhavan has been detected positive with COVID-19. It was informed to the authorities at 9 am this morning,’ said the Twitter handle of Niti Aayog.
The Aayog said that it was following all the due protocols necessary as per the Ministry of Health guidelines and the building has been sealed.
‘Disinfection and sanitisation of the building are underway. Contacts of the single covid-positive person have been asked to go on self-quarantine,’ the missive added.
The death toll due to novel coronavirus is inching towards the 1,000-mark as 48 people have lost their lives in the past 12 hours, taking the total number of fatalities to 934.
The number of cases now stands at 29,435 while the mortality rate is currently 23.3 per cent.
Maharashtra continues to be a top spot among the maximum number of coronavirus cases in the country. The state has so far witnessed 369 fatalities.
The National Capital, which is on the third spot in the number of cases, is doing well to contain the pathogen. The city has maintained one of the best recovery rates in the country with 877 patients cured and discharged from the hospital till date.
