Revoke order directing shifting of service matters to CAT’s Chandigarh bench, establish it’s separate bench in JK : JK EJCC Chief tells DoPT

Srinagar/May,1: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Consultative Committe(EJCC) Aijaz Ahmad Khan on Friday strongly opposed the shifting of service matters of Jammu and Kashmir employees to Chandigarh bench of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and demanded a separate bench for Jammu and Kashmir for functioning on the pattern of move offices in Srinagar and Jammu.He urged the central government to immediately revoke the order.
In a statement issued here on Friday Khan said “the order issued by Department of Personal and Trainings (DoPT) for shifting of all the service matters of Employees of Jammu and Kashmir Government to Central Adminstrative Tribunal (CAT) Chandigarh is highly objectionable and also unacceptable”.
Saying that besides physical inconveniences the travelling,lodging and boarding costs will be too expensive for the Employees to bear who are already bearing the burnt of various types of costs related to their cases, Khan urged the Government to revoke the order immediately and establish a separate bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Jammu & Kashmir with the pattern of its functioning similar to six monthly shuttling of government offices between Srinagar and Jammu so that the Employees will get speedy and cost effective justice. He said a separate bench of CAT for Jammu and Kashmir would be as per the commitment of the Home Minister Amit Shah who on August 5 last year vowed to take the Justice delivery system at the door steps of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
