HANDWARA, May 20-2020: In its continuous offensive against menace of drug abuse, Handwara Police continues it’s war against drugs.
Based on reliable information a naka was laid at Batagund Crossing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad. During checking / search of a vehicle bearing registration No.DL14CF- 4560 one person namely Amir Ahmad Malik S/o Mohd Mukhtyar Malik R/o Adoora Qalamabad was apprehended and during his personal search *1 Kg Charas and Rs. 46000/- cash was recovered from his possession.
In this connection case FIR No. 50/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against him in Police Station Qalamabad and investigation taken up.
This effort is hugely hailed by the general masses. Handwara Police has appealed general public to co-operate in sharing all information related to drug abuse so that the curative steps can be initiated.
