Every sector hit hard in the country since March, it is constant way of life in J&K, Omar

Srinagar, May 27 : Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that while rest of the country is struggling with uncertainty since March this year, it is a constant way of life in Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking to micro blogging site twitter the National Conference (NC) vice president Omar said, “Every sector of trade, commerce & manufacturing has been hit hard in J&K. The rest of the country is struggling with uncertainty since March. In J&K it’s a constant way of life”.

He was reacting to media report that Kashmiri apples, peaches and strawberries have been hit hard by the continued security situation in the Valley, and the Covid-19 pandemic has only made it worse.

Last year every sector, including trade, tourism, horticulture, education and other development activities came to halt after centre scrapped Article 370 and divided the state into two union territories on August 5 when lockdown was imposed and all communication facilities withdrawn.
